Care and Maintenance
About Our Timber and Finishes
At Woodland Sprouts, our products are crafted using plantation timber and may
feature unique natural blemishes in the wood grain.
Acacia Wood: A durable hardwood with distinctive, blended patterns. It is
lightly stained and oiled to enhance its natural beauty.
Recycled Tree Branches: Some items incorporate recycled branches for a
natural look. These are heat-treated, stained, and finished with oils.
Rubber Wood: This timber has a light, uniform color and is used extensively
in our toys and furniture. It is either painted with water-based, low-VOC paints
or finished with natural oils like linseed oil and beeswax. Baby products may
be dyed with food-grade colors, which can release excess color when
exposed to moisture initially.
Furniture Care
Cleaning: Dust furniture with a dry, lint-free soft cloth.
Maintenance: Reapply natural oils (e.g., raw linseed oil or beeswax) every
6–12 months for indoor furniture and every 3–6 months for outdoor pieces to
preserve their finish.
High-Use Settings: For furniture in childcare or kindergarten environments,
inspect regularly (every 3 months). Tighten screws or bolts as needed to
ensure safety.
Environmental Impact: Avoid exposing furniture to extreme heat or low
humidity, as timber naturally expands and contracts with temperature
changes.
Wooden Toy Care
Initial Use: Some toys may release minor tints of paint due to the use of low-
VOC, lacquer-free paints. Wipe them with a damp or dry cloth before first use.
Cleaning: Regularly clean toys with a damp or dry cloth to maintain hygiene.
